Party Up North

So I am a serious slacker and  haven't blogged for awhile, and I apologize but I am going to make it up in the next few days. These last few weeks have been packed with some fun things.  Our first fun thing we did was we took our last trip to Canada just me and Riley.  Next time we go up we will have a baby. :)  It has been a little bit since we have been up there just because of our school and work schedules, so we were glad we could go up before the baby was born.  Riley really needed to go home, he was missing it extremely bad.  And we packed in alot of fun things while we were up there.

This is me going gopher hunting at the Sabey farm.  I got the gopher I was aiming at when Riley took the picture.  I think total I killed like 12, it was so fun.  It was Riley, Brad, Syler (our nephew), and me.  That went.
Syler being is adorable self, he definately knows how to smile for the camera.  Don't you just love that little face, cuz I sure do.
Mandee and Jordan working on training their horses, Mandee is on Mitch and Jordan is on Jack.  They are some good looking buck skins, very pretty.

For awhile Riley has been just itching to ride horses again, he used to ride when he was younger but decided he didn't like getting brushed off, bit, bucked off, or anything else so he stopped.  But having the itch he got back on again up in Canada.  This is him on JT.  He is a mighty fine looking man up there, but I am a little partial I think.

Brad and one of his best buds Syler on Champ. Syler loved every minute of it riding with Grandpa.

Another day we went to the horse races in Lethbridge, I didn't bet though (I would just pick out the horse I though would win) and Riley was kicking himself for not betting the horse I would pick, even though I wouldn't have let him.  But some of the horses I picked won. This picture we thought was pretty cool, if you look close to behind us, on my side is the American flag, on Riley's is the Canadian. We didn't even plan it like that but when we looked at the pictures noticed it, but this is our relationship.  Pretty sweet huh!
Another day we went up to the cabin and did some work up there.  Awhile ago the archway they had leading into the cabin blew over in some wicked wind, so that day they put up another one.  This is Jared in one of the holes they had to dig to put the poles in.  It was about 4-5 feet deep I think.
Lifting up the poles, they didn't look light at all, but they were able to lift up all four of them, two on each side  it was a little nerve racking for the girls to watch, but they did a good job.
This was them just trying to figure out how they were going to get the top across piece on and attached safely.  Luckily the neighbor came down with a tractor to help.  Thank heavens, it was nerve racking watching them with the tractor, couldn't imagine it without it.
Safety first, always with the Sabey's!

This is a picture of me with Riley's 30.06, I wanted to go for a walk, and Riley told me to never leave the cabin without some kind of firearm cuz you never know what you will run into up there. So I grabbed his gun, and some bullets, and left.  When Riley found me he couldn't quit laughing at me, but I was just following his orders, he shouldn't have laughed at me.

We got to hang out with 3 of the cutest little boys ever while up there.  Dahlin and Biz went on vacation while we were up there so we got to help watch their boys.  This is Laiken and he is so freaking cute, I just love him!  He is just so sweet, and smiles for anyone.  He even got his first tooth while we were up there and you wouldn't even know he was teething.  Such a good baby.

This little bundle of energy is Sawyer, he is a very cute/active one year old.  He is Mandee and Jordan's little guy.  He gives you these little crooked smiles, and turns his head to the side and it just melts your heart.

And Syler again, don't you just love that smile, this little kid is so smart, and he says the funniest things, that just make you laugh so hard.  I am so glad we got to go up and spend time with the family up there, it was so good to see everyone, and Thanks Dahlin and Biz for sharing your little boys.  It was definately a good time up there.  We loved it, and it was much needed.

Love It!

This song reminds me of my childhood, fishing every summer with my Venable side of the family, and having my dad take all his kids fishing, and all my uncles taking their kids fishing up in Bridger, Marsh, and Stateline.  Good memories, and I can't wait to go up again this year.  I am getting the itch just to be up in the Uintah's.  Love that place!

The Big One

Today was our big ultrasound for our 20 week appointment, technically we are 21 weeks along, and baby is measuring 21-22 weeks, so that is great! It was so much fun to see our little baby for like 20 minutes. The tech measured the brain, and heart, looked at the babies kidney's bladder, stomach, pretty much all the organs. Baby is still a boy and we are so excited for this little guy to join our family. This is a picture of the side of his face, we kept trying to get one that was just his face but the little guy just kept his hand in front of his face the whole time. Hopefully next time he will be a little more cooperative. So enjoy this side view of his face and his left arm.

As for me and Riley, nothing is really new, Riley is getting ready for this semester to be over, and I am just working as much as I can, which lately has been quite a bit. Another good thing is, I have never done this good on my bracket like ever! Both teams that I chose to play in the championship game are playing in it. I have Kentucky winning and lets hope that they pull it off for me! Off to watch the basketball game! Go Kentucky!

And the Verdict Is.............

When me and Riley found out we were expecting a baby, I wanted to surprise our families with such a cute way to tell them what we are having, a boy or girl? My friend Lyndee Lloyd, has a cake decorating business called Harmony cakes, and I decided to do a gender reveal cake. I called her up and said as soon as we know, and asked her if she can make a cake to tell our parents. We wanted to do it while my in-laws were down here (because sending a cake to Canada, would not work out so well) unfortunately the baby didn't cooperate with the ultrasound so we couldn't do that, I was so bummed out, because I wanted both our families to find out together. We found out what we are having on Thursday, and it was my father in law's birthday that night, so we texted him and told him ( I think that is a pretty good birthday present), then we called my mother in law and let her know, since it was the middle of the day and they weren't together at that moment. I just wish that I could have done something so cute for them as well to let them know. It is kinda hard having part of the family 700 miles away. I then called my friend and had her make this wonderful looking cake, and made plans to tell my family at Sunday dinner.

And the verdict is..................

A BOY!!!!!!!

We are so excited to be having a boy! And the cake tasted amazing! She did such a fabulous job, if you want her number to get an amazing cake, just give me a call and I will give you her number!

Cross Country Skiing

A couple of weekends ago Riley decided he wanted to do some skiing, knowing that downhill skiing was pretty risky for a pregnant lady to do he decided he wanted to do some cross country skiing. So that Saturday late morning, we went up to North Fork campground in the valley, they have a place to rent cross country ski's there and groomed trails for $15 dollars a person. Pretty sweet deal for a day of fun. We got all our gear and since it was a absolutely beautiful day outside we didn't have to wear coats or anything, then we started on the trails. Since the last time I cross country skied was in the 6th grade I wasn't quite pro but I only fell once and was very careful to not to hurt anything on the way down. Riley also only fell once, I didn't see it though he was behind be. It was so much fun, the only downside to it was this dang nausea associated to pregnancy. I had to stop a few times and just try to calm it down, Riley was great though and just supported me. Also side note, everybody was so friendly up there on the trails they all stopped and said hi, if they were going slow enough, there were some pretty intense people there on the trails as well, we just let them pass us. When we decided we had enough of the skiing we went to this great little restaurant in the valley and had a delicious pizza. (Normally I haven't been able to eat pizza with this pregnancy it makes me gag but it just smelled so good at that time). All together though it was such a great date! We enjoyed it so much! It was just nice to get away for the day and not think about school or work. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

The cute couple!
Riley looking pretty pro at this!
Me at the top of a hill!

Finishing up with our skiing! So fun! I totally recommend it to everyone!

And Baby Makes Three!

We are so excited to be announcing that we are having a baby! We are currently 12 weeks along, and baby is doing great! We are due August 13, 2012. We couldn't be more excited. The big goal before having a baby was for me to be an RN, that happened in September, and we found out we were expecting right before we went to Mexico in December! We kept it a secret for 8 whole weeks (if you know me that is a very long time to keep a secret), and told our families by showing them this picture that we had taken on the beach in Mexico. So excited to have a this little spirit join our family!

Goodbye Old Friend!

So Riley and I decided it was time to sell my car! (More Riley decided and I had no choice but to go along). If you know me you know I get somewhat attached to my vehicles, I give them names, this car is Samantha Mae! I love her! I am sad that we have to sell her! She experienced the life changes right along with me! She was my first NICE car, she watched me go through college, and get my education, she watched me go through countless dates, and eventually watched me meet Riley and marry him. She was there when I would have a bad shift at work, or just needed a time out. I can even tell you on one hand the #of people besides myself who have driven this car, and they are all my family. Well, Samantha has been a fabulous car and I will miss her dearly, but am excited for getting a new vehicle and moving on up in the life.
