Blessing and Temple

So I am a horrible blogger lately, I blame work and being a new momma.  But I am going to play catch up tonight.  On Sept 2, we had the opportunity to bless Naylor Riley Sabey.  It was so great, we had some of Riley's family come down from Canada and up from St. George and my family was there as well.  We felt very blessed to have everyone come that could come and very thankful for everyone.  I love this little boy so much and think he is just so handsome!!

Naylor in the blanket that all his uncle's, male cousins (on the Canadian side) and daddy got blessed in this blanket.  It was made by his namesake Great-Great Grandma Lillian Naylor Sabey.  It was very special for him to be blessed in it.

We also had the opportunity to go to the Brigham City Temple Open House as a family.  I love it, it is so beautiful inside and out.  There was alot of people there though so we had to wait awhile and we took some pictures while waiting.

Naylor's Newborns

My sister Jamie Lacefield took Naylor's newborn pictures and we absolutely love them, we made a birth announcement with them and I will post that as well. Thanks Jamie, we absolutely love them, and love this little boy.

Canadian Surprise

In August we decided before I had to go back to work that we would surprise Shannon, and both his grandma's with a visit to introduce Naylor to them that couldn't come down for the baby blessing.  It was so much fun and we successfully surprised them all.  We went up on a Saturday and Naylor did so good traveling it only took us a little longer to get there than normal.  Shannon and Brad were in Atlanta when we got there but were going to be back on Wednesday.

This is some of the boys working on pouring the footings for the new barn that they are building on the Cook farm.

One of the days we went with Mandee, Jordan, and Sawyer and climbed Bear's Hump.  It was a fun hike and the view from the top is amazing.  Riley and Naylor with Waterton behind him.
Our little family on top of Bear's Hump, it sure was windy up there.

Hauling hay, I got to drive the tractor. :)

We had so much fun this week we were up there, we went boating, and to Taber, to Lethbridge, and the cabin.  Riley went on a horse ride with his parent's ward and I got to hang out at the cabin with Chanse and Kinzee.  We also went to the temple while we were there, and one of the best things was Jordan got a job while we were up there.  It was a pretty fun week, I love going up there.  Can't wait to go up again.

Naylor and Cousins

Naylor has some cousins that were born very close to him, this is Jhi Jewels Nishikawa, she was born two weeks after Naylor to Shane and Haulee (my cousin).  She was due three weeks before Naylor, and was born 2.5 weeks after him.  They are going to grow up so close to each other.

This is Eli Walter Vowles, born to Dexter and Maren Vowles (Riley's cousin).  He is three weeks older than Naylor and was supposed to be 2.5 months older than him.  They will also be so very close to each other.  I think that they have the same build, Naylor is just a few pounds lighter, and almost just as long.

These handsome little boys are the boys of the Sabey family, all of Brad and Shannon's grandson's, they don't have any granddaughter's yet.  The oldest is Syler and he turns 5 in January, he belongs to Dahlin and Biz, then Sawyer and he turns 2 in April, he belongs to Jordan and Mandee (and will be getting a new sibiling in January).  The next one is Laiken and he turns 1 this month, he belongs to Dahlin and Biz.  All the Sabey boys together, and getting another cousin in January.  So excited!!!!  Don't they look cute!!

Naylor has another cousin picture to take on my side with the Venable grandkids so I will post that as soon as I get it, probably in a couple of weeks.

Settling into a Routine

Life has slowed down a bit since having Naylor (I call him Bubba), it has been so nice staying home with him, and I love just holding him and watching him sleep.  I just think he is so cute, this past week has been fun, we have ventured out of our house a little bit more.  We have been to grandma's house a few times.  Last Sunday, Naylor got the chance to meet his American cousins, he still wants to meet his Canadian cousins, and can't wait to meet them.  He also got circumcised this week, which was not fun for momma, he cried (and he doesn't really cry at all, he just wimpers for the most part) and he really cried after it was done, and for awhile afterwards.  It broke my heart.  He is doing really good now though, still struggles with sleeping during the night, he sleeps like an angel during the day so I will have to figure out how to switch those days and nights around. Any suggestions???

Bubba really likes his baths, it is his favorite time of day, he just chills in the water and he has been like this since he has been able to have baths.  I think we have a water baby on our hands.

July 19th was our 4 year anniversary and since we had a new baby at home we decided to hold off on celebrating for a few days.  On July 24th, Riley got off work early due to the holiday so he suggested we leave Bubba with my mom (first time leaving him) and go for a ride in the razor.  We did and it was so fun, but I was ready to be back to my baby when we were done, but it was so nice just to spend time Riley and me for a little bit.

Naylor and daddy just chilling this afternoon.  Daddy just likes to sit and hold him, and they sure look cute together! Love the men in my life.  Riley is such a fabulous daddy and husband, Naylor and I are sure lucky to have him.

Naylor representing half of his background during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics!

Naylor sleeps with his hands up like this all the time, if his hands are down swaddled in blankets he will struggle and complain until his hands are free so he can put them up. He also likes his legs free, during the night I will find him all the time with his hands like the picture above, the blankets over his chest still, and the bottom of the blanket kicked free from his feet so that his legs are free as well.  It is the cutest thing.  Well that is pretty much it for this week. It has been fun staying home with Bubba!

Naylor as of late

We are a few days late on this but, HE IS HOME!!! After 18 days of being in the NICU he finally came home on July 17th. We couldn't be happier that he is home and he is doing great. As of Friday he weighed 6.4 pounds and is 20 inches long. His doctor said he is growing like he should and is a perfect baby. We agree.
He sleeps fairly well at night, some nights are better than others but for the most part he only wakes up every 3 hours or so so he we can feed him.
