Oh, What A Beautiful Day!

I just love that musical, OKLAHOMA, and would very much watch it right now if I had it but this is not what this post is about, another post will be on musicals. Today I had every intention of being a good nursing student and studying my brains out until I say what a beautiful day it was outside. It was such a bright blue sky and can we say billowie clouds! Just amazing, while looking at them I had the sudden urge to climb a tree and just watch all the passerby's. I think I would have througly enjoyed myself and would have called it a very productive day but alas I couldn't find any trees and it was kinda windy/somewhat cold outside. But I couldn't just sit inside on a day like today, I had to settle for sitting in the sun in the house. Oh Well! This weather did bring to mind summer days of old when I had nothing better to do than climb a tree, sit in a hammock or play with friends all day long loving every single minute of it! Here are some random pics of just having fun in the sun! Oh how I love summer and cannot wait for it to return to my presence! I also can't wait for the day when I can once again have a summer without school in it, but another blogpost this one is happy! Oh and I did end up studying tonight for all my tests this week, OH CAN WE SAY BARFF!
Who doensn't love a good sunglasses picture! I love this pic, it is from our wedding! Just so nice and HOT!
This is me and my sister Shelby, just playing in the sun one day! I think we were watching a golfer on the golf course! Another great summer activity!
Pretty Flowers! A summer MUST!
And this is a vacation, we took to Yellowstone! I freaking love that place, totally have to go there if you have never been! It is amazing! This is just out in front of the elk refuge in Jackson Hole, another amazing place!

For My Husband

When I met Riley he told me about this band from Alberta, he played this song for me and I wasn't to fond of it at first, but it grew on me, and while playing on the internet one day I found this video. Brings a smile to my hubby's face everytime he hears it, and I just love when he smiles and laughs. Hope you enjoy it! It is a pretty great song!

Domestic Bliss

As of late I have been super stressed out with school and work so to get away from all of that I do what I call domestic bliss. In the past I have cooked, or cleaned, or what not. This next couple weeks I will be making a blanket for my sister in law, Mandee and little baby, she is having a little boy so I get to make him a blanket. It is so freaking cute. I sat here putting the quilt on the quilting frames and I just was so happy and not at all stressed about things I need to do for school. I loved it! It also makes me feel happy because it connects me to my ancestors. Not alot has changed for the quilting world in the last hundred years, you still have to do it by hand and set it up on quiliting frames. It just brings my mind to a simpler time, and it is so relaxing. I am just so grateful to my mom and grandma for keeping these traditions alive in me so that I can teach them to my kids and grandkids, I know they are becoming a lost art but they will not in my household, I plan on teaching my kids each of these things, and I will show them all the things that I made. Well that is all for now. I won't post a picture of the quilt yet, I will show it once I give it to Mandee, I want her to see it in person before she sees it on my blog. Well ta ta for now.

Three Years Ago

Three years ago this week I had one of the best experiences of my life, so I am going to reminicse about a few things come back a couple years with me......
It all started when my cousin Haulee told me her boyfriend had a friend and she wanted to set me up on a blind date with him. Well for those who don't know I had been on so many freaking blind dates and I was so tired of it, and so tired of meeting new guys that didn't really match with me and just weren't very fun to hang out with. But guess what I had to work that weekend so I said No I couldn't I worked. Well the Saturday comes that we were supposed to be set up and the hopsital called me and guess what I got called off work (which in January NEVER happens, the hospital is usually exploding at this time) so I called Haul and asked if she still wanted to set me up and see if he was available for that day, guess what he was available. I told her that I would only go on this date to meet him as a friend, and that I could always have more friends. Haul and me decided to meet at her house and go meet up with him at the Weber State basketball game to watch my other little cousin dance at half-time. I get over to my aunt's house to meet with Haul and Shane.
We drive together up to the Dee Events Center, and finally get to meet this guy, I didn't even know his name at the time I met him. When I first laid eyes on him I couldn't really see him, it was dark outside and very cold and he was standing against the light, but I didn't learn his name was Riley. We walked inside and I finally get a good look at him, he was freaking cute, although a little on the shy side, well if you know my that doesn't really cut in my book, so I start talking to him, but he didn't talk AT ALL, and he even answered his phone on out FIRST DATE, but I tried to understand because it was his dad and he wasn't from the United States. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to let that one slide, but as the game went on he still didn't talk to me, he watched the flipping basketball game. The game gets over and we walk out to the cars, he didn't talk to me so I was going to ride back to Julie's with Haulee and Shane, but Riley finally opened his mouth and said, hey do u want to ride with me, so I being on a date said yes, gave him another chanse to see if he would talk on the way back to Julie's house. Well he did and we had a very nice conversation about first date topics nothing to serious.
We get there and started watching you tube videos on the computer, during this I feel this arm on my back and I thought it was Madee but she was on the other side of the room, so I turn and it's Riley, so I was thought, oh this kid is a playa, so I said well I will hug him back and just see what he says, he just kept hugging me, well we finally decided to watch a movie in the living room, and we sat on the couch and finally Riley opened up and talked with me during the movie Mr. Deeds, he kept telling me that when we go to Canada you have to see this, and this is who you will meet, I kept thinking this kid is a playa or just really knows what he wants and says it, which is a very scary feeling, never met any guy like this before, but he also kept kissing my forehead and cheek, which lead me to believe he just wanted a kiss, and he wasn't going to get it.
We started another movie and talked during that one as well, the whole time he was totally trying to kiss me, and guess what he wasn't going to get the chanse.
The time came to go home and he walked me to my car, and I gave him a hug, and totally expected him to ask for my phone number, which he didn't, at this time I really started to like him though and wanted to see him again, so I tricked him into getting it. We left and he called me later that night to tell me he had made it home safely (that is how he got my number) and said he had fun, and wanted to hang out again tomorrow. I told him that would be awesome and guess what the rest is history. ;) I am so glad I said yes to that blind date so many years ago and I love Riley he is the BEST husband in the world and can't wait to spend forever with him!

Riley's Sad Day

Riley is having a sad day today, he finally switched over his plates from Alberta to Utah, it only took him three years. I think he didn't want to be known as a Utahn and still recognizable as a Canadian. We took pictures of him changing it over.
